Jewelry: how do you know is a good deal?

I want to start a jewelry line. My target will be young consumers at department stores. I plan to sell only sterling silver and gold plated sterling silver. I’m currently in the process of selecting & buying beads, Charms, bracelets, necklaces and pendans from local and on-line stores. I found a site with awesome charms but some, to my inexperienced knowledge, seem pricey. examle: one sterling silver charm costs 5.65? good deal?

46 charms for $261?

You should know, the price of sterling silver has shot up dramatically from a few years ago. The cost of the charm really also depends on how intricate the charm is, what it is made of (in this case sterling silver), and where it’s from. Italian sterling silver is more expensive and the quality is alot higher and better. If you are planning on having quality items, this price is not extravagant but rather reasonable. You need to understand it also goes by weight – the heavier the charm the more silver it has & the more expensive it will be. As we stand today, the price of silver stands at over $16.00 per ounce. That is raw, before it’s even processed, factor in the labour etc. and you can see how it adds up.
I would definitely say put quality over quantity – your customers will thank you.
Best of luck!
