Opening a clothing a boutique…need advice?
I am planning on opening a small, cozy clothing boutique in the next year and I am really excited about it. I have all kinds of ideas and a background in business..but I am not sure where to start with distributors and wholesalers etc.
I am looking for trendy, funky items of clothing and accessories. But also just some cool things for your home as well. And maybe even cool baby clothes.
If anybody has been through something like this and has some suggestions on getting going that would be great.
Or if anyone knows of some cool products, clothing, or jewellery lines that are different I would appreciate that too.
I am really interested in local designers and supporting Canadian designers. If you have suggestions or know of any great sources in canada. particularly BC? that would be fantastic.
Any tips, comments, advice are welcome.

Sounds like a good idea – I have connections with several people who make interesting clothing, jewelry, etc and I could hook you up, but I’ll not post that info here. I also make some interesting hats and clothing items.
You are, however, welcome to email for this info and I’ll set you on the path. And I do believe there are several Canadians in that group as well.
You can also go to local consignment shops and craft fairs, get people’s info and contract with them from there.
