This may not help at all, however it worked for me!
When I got married a zillion years ago I took my wife’s orchid arrangement that was on her dress and wrapped it in paper and put it in the freezer. A year later I took the flower out and it had dried out but was in perfect shape. I spray painted the dried flower with lacquer and kept it for years, more years than the marriage! (The flower could have been painted after I put the lacquer on it.)
Sand drying flowers is another method besides dehydration.
